Visit for Research
All visitors must check in at the reception desk on the first floor.
Visitors wishing to view material in the Kelsey Reading Room on the
second floor will be assigned a locker free of charge to store personal
belongings.
All patrons must present a valid photographic ID issued
by a government agency or educational institution at the Kelsey Reading
Room reference desk. First time patrons are required to fill out our
Visitor Registration Form and familiarize themselves with the Cushing
Material Use Policy.
Please note that the following are not permitted in the Kelsey Reading Room:
• Food, drink, tobacco, or chewing gum.
• Purses, bags, briefcases, backpacks, laptop cases.
• Coats, hats, or other bulky outerwear.
• Loose white paper, highlighters, or stick-on notes.
• No pens.
• Do not trace, lean, or write on archival material.
• Group study.
• Cell phone use.
Personal
books may be brought in and a “Patron Materials” marker inserted. All
handwritten notes must be made in pencil on yellow paper. Pencils and
paper are available at the reference desk.
You are welcome to bring
your personal laptop to use in the Kelsey Reading Room. Each table is
equipped with power outlets and wireless internet access is available.
Texas
A&M students are permitted to study in the Kelsey Reading Room.
They must follow the same rules and policies as researchers.
