The Cushing Collective: A New Blog

By Francesca Marini and Leslie J. Winter | 08-21-2020

We are happy to launch the new blog of the Texas A&M University Libraries’ Cushing Memorial Library and Archives! Our blog will showcase our collections and activities, and will promote diverse voices and ideas. The Cushing Collective will help people unfamiliar with Cushing Memorial Library and Archives access all we have to offer, and will be another way for people who already know about us to connect with us even more.

Our collections represent a wide variety of topics and points of view, from traditional historical narratives to documentation of counter-culture and social activism. This blog will also cover various activities inspired by our collections, including research, teaching, reference, exhibitions, talks, and tours.

Besides showcasing our collections and activities, this blog will discuss general topics that are relevant to society, as well as to our professional fields. We will engage with multiple communities in a discussion of the present, the past and the future. In this way, we hope to expand representation and create a true space for collective engagement with Cushing materials, resources, faculty, staff and ideas. We invite you to join us as we explore.

The Cushing Collective will host guest bloggers and will seek opportunities to interact with other blogs, as well.  If you have an idea that you would like to write about, questions or concerns, please contact us at CushingCollective@library.tamu.edu

We look forward to engaging with all of you through The Cushing Collective!
