On October 30, 2020, the Cushing Memorial Library and Archives/Texas A&M University Libraries took part in an online, Halloween-themed collaborative outreach event, Getting Spooky with Special Collections. The event was organized by the University of North Texas (UNT) and featured a total of six Texas institutions, discussing notable items and collections.

The Cushing Memorial Library and Archives, Texas A&M University Libraries, houses the collection of author George R. R. Martin, including books, manuscripts and merchandise related to the Song of Ice & Fire saga and the Game of Thrones television series. Learn more about this collection!

Faculty employed at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas lived on campus from 1876 until 1941. Once housing faculty on campus ended, the homes were offered for sale. Many of these homes still exist today in Bryan and College Station.

The late Texas native Clyde McQueen spent his life chronicling Black churches all throughout the state of Texas. It was important for McQueen to connect these religious institutions to the land and history that allowed them to strive amid racism and oppression.
